A dump truck is a vehicle that unloads cargo by itself through hydraulic or mechanical lifting. It is also called a dump truck. It consists of a car chassis, a hydraulic lifting mechanism, a cargo compartment, and a power take-off device.

 

The compartment of a commercial truck is divided into two types: rearward tipping and side tipping. The piston rod movement is controlled by the operating system. Rearward tipping is more common. Pushing the piston rod causes the compartment to tip, and a few types tip in both directions.

Since the total weight limit for four-axle vehicles is 31 tons, many semi-trailer dump trucks have replaced 8x4 dump trucks in the field of highway dump trucks. However, in Japan, the number of heavy-duty dump trucks with single-stage reduction axles is still large.
